Souma: I did not improve my skills for your sake, Hakaze-dono. I did not give you my permission, so do not go eating it on your own. Incorrigible.
Kaoru: Don’t be so uptight, Hasumi-kun’s influence is really rubbing off on you, isn’t it.
Kaoru: Oh by the way, Souma-kun, you’ve been hanging around ES lately instead of going to school, haven’t you? Everyone here is so serious, isn’t it stifling to be around them all the time?
Kaoru: It may be in your nature to spend your time like this, but if you get sick of it, just call me – I’ll take you somewhere fun. ♪
Souma: There is no need. Rather, being told this by someone like you, who never took attending school seriously when you were enrolled, does not sit well with me.

Aira: Ehehe, Hakaze Kaoru talked to me… His image really has changed lately. Based on how he just acted and talked, I guess that must be his real self?

Aira: The unit he’s part of, UNDEAD, do lots of attention-grabbing type jobs, so I took notice of them… They haven’t really done anything too memorable lately though.

Souma: Mm. Now that he’s a working adult, he more or less seems to have mellowed out. And besides, while Hakaze-dono may seem rather frivolous, he is a genuinely good and hardworking individual.
Souma: Although it is quite vexing how all he does is poke fun at others. That’s why people are always getting the wrong idea about him. Fool.
Souma: Well, anyway. All of you, be sure to eat your fill before it gets cold.
Hiiro: Mm. I’m digging in now. You’ve been a great help, preparing breakfast for us as well, Kanzaki-senpai. You’re a really good person. I want to be friends with you!
Souma: Hehe, to be able to receive such honest praise is quite embarrassing. It did not consume much extra time at all, since I was already making food for myself.

Souma: So you understand. I made sure to take care when preparing the ingredients. It was difficult to extract the bitter innards of the fish, while making sure not to destroy the delicate flavor.
Souma: Lately, youths tend to have a preference for things such as “sapuri” and “fasutofuudo”, but occasionally, it can be good to experience traditional Japanese food.
Souma: If you wait a bit, I can prepare some tea for you. My family has sent me some good tea leaves out of consideration, now that I’ve begun living in the dormitory.
Tatsumi: Ah, please do not trouble yourself… Hehe, this is more than enough already.
Mayoi: that was an unexpectedly extravagant breakfast. I usually end up skipping breakfast, but I could eat my fill of something like this.
Mayoi: But that person, Kanzaki-san… Why was he carrying around a Japanese sword? I was so on edge that I wasn’t really able to pay attention to the conversation, you know?
Hiiro: Mm. I did notice it too… So then it is generally considered strange to carry a sword around? I thought it might be common for people in the big city to carry around weapons like that.

Aira: But I guess the rumor that Kanzaki Souma of Akatsuki always has his sword was true…
Aira: I really thought that and the old-fashioned way he speaks was just part of a character he was putting on.
