"Outfield"
Translation
<About a week later, on the day of the Idol Royale>
Kuro: (Hrm, it's awfully noisy here at Ensemble Square this morning. I can't concentrate on my sewing...)
Kuro: (Oh yeah, they're holding that DreamFes today, the Royal somethin’ or other...)
Kuro: (It ain't like Akatsuki's performing today, so the fire they're starting ain't our business, but we can still see the smoke from here.)
Kuro: (Well, I guess it's kinda nostalgic. Brings back memories of the daily atmosphere at Yumenosaki, particularly two years ago.)
Kuro: (I thought ES had an unexpectedly peaceful atmosphere, but maybe that was just my imagination.)
Kuro: (Nothing's changed -- If you've got passionate young'ns all crammed together, it's bound to end up like this.)
Kuro: (Wonder what'll happen going forward...)
Kuro: (Even back at Yumenosaki, adhering to titles and stuff was a pain... But even just looking into this "chain of events" from the outside, there's still a lot of stress involved either way.)
Souma: Pardon my intrusion, Kiryu-dono.
Kuro: Oh, Kanzaki, sup.
Souma: Ah, "sup" to you as well, Kiryu-dono.
Kuro: Haha, "sup to you as well", huh.
Kuro: Anyway, you've always been an early riser, but... What about school? Why're you here at ES so early in the morning, Kanzaki?
Souma: Heheh, this is quite amusing. Were you unaware? It's summer vacation now.
Souma: Due to situations such as air conditioners not working, the fish tanks are prone to failures during the summertime, so it is required of me to visit the club room on a daily basis -- however, there are currently no classes in session.
Souma: I am essentially free from dawn until evening.
Kuro: Ah, I see. Feels like ever since I graduated, my sense of stuff like that has gotten all fuzzy, huh.
Kuro: Even though I'm a regular on a weekly broadcast program, it feels like I gotta stare a little closer at my calendar lately.
Souma: Heheh. It's almost as if I'm reporting back to a superior who's aged too quickly.
Souma: But I am also spending each day at my own pace, so I am in no position to criticize other people.
Kuro: There's not much goin' on lately, huh... Well, my costume repair side job has been doin’ pretty well. Even though there's not anything in particular to aim for that's been coming up lately, I've ended up comin’ up with a lot of designs and stuff, since it's a hobby of mine and all..
Souma: Heheh. You really do enjoy sewing, Kiryu-dono.
Kuro: Yeah. Well, it's pretty nice to be able to connect your hobby with something that has a practical use. It's also been a while since I've really been able to make a whole lotta costumes, so I gotta get back into the swing of it...
Kuro: That's why I've been pricing my costume repair service for ES at such a low rate.
Kuro: Oh yeah, and during the recent DreamFes, the one with Crazy:B's indiscriminate banter...
Kuro: Those guys, they just went on and on spittin’ rude remarks about how there's no design sense in Akatsuki's usual outfits, even though they knew I'm the one who made ‘em.
Kuro: I got way too frustrated, it was really unlike me.
Kuro: I thought about just sticking to makin' personal outfits, and leaving everythin’ else to the pros... But in the end, I still wanna create my own masterpiece, ya know? Something so good that nobody would go complainin' over it.
(Kuro 4* unbloomed CG for the next two lines)
Kuro: So yeah, that's why I'm always so busy with my sewing and stuff... It's makin' my face red with anger though.
Kuro: Ya know, I feel like I'm startin' to resemble Itsuki, my childhood friend... Even if it has been a while since we've met up.
Souma: Heh. If "kureijiibii" are able to anger even the usually quite calm Kiryu-dono, I mustn't underestimate them.
Souma: Although I do not believe you need to worry yourself over the words of such a frivolous ruffian, Kiryu-dono.
Souma: After all, he even dared to accuse me of being a "loose cannon with a lethal weapon".
Souma: While it is true that I wield a sword, it is not as if I am not careful with it. I sincerely regret that he has spread such a terrible lie about myself.
Kuro: Actually, I think he might have a point about that one... I meant to bring it up before, but you know little kids might try to mimic your swordsmanship.
Kuro: You should remember that you're an idol, and have the power to influence others around you.
Kuro: Though I guess I'm not really one to talk, with the whole delinquent act an' all. Maybe I should try changin' my hairstyle or something, go for a fresh new image...
Souma: No no, I believe you are more than beautiful and noble enough just as you are now, Kiryu-dono. As you are someone I look up to greatly, I dislike the notion of your self deprecation.
Kuro: Ahh... Yeah, you're right. My bad. I guess sometimes my thoughts start to run wild, when I've got too much time on my hands.
Souma: Yes, well they do say that small men of few thoughts have naught but evil to do... Though Kiryu-dono is far from small, it's rather fitting nonetheless. ♪
Keito: What a peculiar conversation you're having.
Keito: Is it always like this when you two are alone?
Souma: Ooh, Hasumi-dono, good morning. Heheh, it seems that all of Akatsuki's members have gathered.
Kuro: Too bad we don't have any plans. But what's up, my man Hasumi? It's not like Akatsuki had any jobs lined up today, right?
Keito: Yeah. Just as a precaution, I came here in case anything happened during the Idol Royale.
Keito: To make sure any problems which may arise could be dealt with, I made sure there were no conflicting jobs for today.
Keito: Even though the Idol Royale is today, it seems there's still applications to perform coming in.
Keito: I'll be staying close by today, so in the event something happens on stage, I intend to intervene.
Souma: Ooh, if you intend on executing a raid, I shall accompany you! It has been quite some time since we Akatsuki have brought forth divine punishment upon evil, after all. ☆
Kuro: This is what I was talkin' about, Kanzaki.
Kuro: If you're that worked up over Crazy:B, maybe it woulda been better to accept the performance invitation for the Idol Royale.
Souma: Hm? Did we also receive such an invitation? I believe my beloved sworn friend Adonisu-dono's unit, UNDEAD, received an invitation as well.
Keito: If you get too friendly with Otogari, I'll be forced to treat him like an in-law, as if we're old friends, which could be rather awkward.
Keito: Well, such an unbreakable friendship is hard to come by, so I hope you'll treasure it.
Souma: Yes, I shall treasure this friendship for the rest of my life.
Kuro: Haha. Looks like Kanzaki is the one who's best at makin' friends, huh. Doin' his best to enjoy his youth to the fullest.
Keito: Ah, I'm jealous. ...But anyway, this is just why we can't afford to have the likes of Crazy:B slander us any further.
Keito: If we stand on stage in the exact same way as the other day, it's clear that we'll only get bombarded with their insane remarks further.
Keito: Also, while we weren't cut too deeply last time, it's also not as if we don't have questionable actions in our history that they could target us with.
Keito: We were able to fall back before they could deal any sort of finishing blow to us the other day, but who knows what Crazy:B might do next.
Keito: If they truly intend to destroy the idol utopia we've put our blood, sweat, and tears into building, though... I'll stop at nothing to put their efforts to an end.
Kuro: The utopia "we" built, huh... So, my man, I take it that Tenshouin also feels the same way about this?
Keito: I don't actually know. The other day, at the Summit, was the first time we've actually spoken in quite a while.
Keito: We're part of different agencies now, after all. It wouldn't be right to simply expect his point of view to always match ours now.
Keito: Let us walk our own path, no longer for the sake of the sun, but as the moon -- as ourselves. We may be in the shadows right now, but our time to shine will surely come.
Keito: This is my belief... No, rather, it is my sincerest wish.
Kuro: Haha. Well, we can't just sit around wishin' for things, we gotta get our act together, yeah?
Kuro: In order to kick some life into those lazy wannabe idols, we Akatsuki kicked up quite the fuss back at Yumenosaki.
Kuro: But it would be pretty embarrassing if we ended up lazing around just like those guys, yeah?
Keito: Mm... Wannabe idols, huh...
Keito: (That reminds me... ALKALOID, whose name was probably named that way intentionally, with the suffix of "-oid", as in an imperfect imitation of the real deal... I wonder what their next move will be?)
Keito: (At the Summit the other day, we really only spoke of Crazy:B. There was almost no mention of ALKALOID at all...)
Keito: (I get the feeling that Eichi probably tried to lead the conversation in a direction that led us to forget about ALKALOID on purpose... There's no way he doesn't have some kind of plan up his sleeve.)
Keito: (Even now, I still can't quite figure out the true nature of ALKALOID.)
